Every time I go to Rhett’s I seem to order the same thing and I am always happy with my food so it works out quite well even though in reading other reviews and talking to friends there seem to be other things on the menu I want to try.  The river salad is amazing.  Always satisfying and delicious and their balsamic dressing is really good.  Never too sweet, but not too tangy either.  Entree wise the crab cakes are outstanding.  Jumbo lump crab, not full of bread and light and tasty.  They serve them with rice and asparagus usually which I’m not always crazy about asparagus but they always seem to cook them well and compliment the meal really well.

The menu is creative, the ingredients excellent, and the service very accommodating.. The grilled salmon was a huge portion, perfectly grilled, and the spicy ginger cream was lovely and  perfect complement. The River salad – while seemingly just generic mixed baby greens with pine nuts and feta – was far greater than the sum of its parts with a delicious dressing, and the crab cake on top, while not rave inspiring – was better than most.

The last time I went was new years eve and it was “oyster night” along with their new years menu choices but basically I guess one night a week the oysters are like a buck or so each and so I got a half dozen.  SOOOO good. I love oysters too and usually the smaller ones are better, but these were bigger (can’t remember which kind, sorry) but they were sweet and such a delicious way to start a meal.

I crave their crab cakes though… they make me happy :)
